Above picture pretty much says it all. Gosh, I remember way back when I used to hate nap time. When I was little I remember having endless battles with my parents about nap time. Nap time was a big no no for me, it meant time away from playing with my toys and when I was a teenager it meant less time on the phone and less time for my social life.
By the time I hit college, I started yearning for nap time. There were times when I had to sit for 5 straight hours in one class. The lecture was so boring that I literally went cross eyed and dozed off for a good few seconds. There was another time when I was taking an exam which lasted for three full hours. That exam made me feel so sleepy that none of the questions I read had registered in my brain. I was so shocked when I got my test paper back. Why? Well in the mid portion of the test paper I got so bored I doodled on the answer portion, I wrote my name on the answer portion, and I had rewrote the test question on the answer portion. Sheesh! I do a lot of weird stuff when I am sleepy or in need of a 30 minute nap break.
And now, I am no longer living a student's life, I am now in a corporate world where I need to be awake physically and mentally. These past few months I have felt so drained. I am always feeling so sleepy by the time the clock hits 2pm. Coffee? Caffeine? Sugar? Tried em all but nothing works for me. Tsk tsk....
Do you guys feel the same way as well? Do you find yourself needing nap time too?
Anyways...I'm off to catch some zzzzzz's. Hopefully this will recharge me for a few hours and make me feel full of live again. Night night everyone!

I still take advantage of nap time on the weekends. Even a 15 minute nap just re charges me!! Why did we fight this as kids?
yes all the time. i can sleep for 8 hours and still feel like napping. ;)
We could all use a nap sometimes!!
It seems to describes myself!! When I was little my parents use to said: if you don't take a nap, just lay on your bed and rest... and now I love naps soooo much!
Yes, yes, yes!!!
I used to joke about taking naps--never needed one and don't remember taking them as a kid. But I am ready for them now. I remember my dad occasionally taking an afternoon nap on a weekend--when it was raining or we didn't have a ton of chores to do outside. I thought it was weird. Now I understand.
I wish I could nap, but ever since I stopped working night I can fall alseep if the sun is up. Even if I lay in bed, my body just wont map.
I hear you. I would be so much more productive if the working day was 5 hours only.
I couldn't agree more. Suddenly it's like I can't get ENOUGH naptime.
xo,
C
The above picture says it all.
+1!!!
I'm pretty sure I've liked naps all my life hahaha.
Problem is, despite constantly craving them I have trouble actually taking them. I always celebrate that I have a day free where I can nap and catch up on sleep but then I somehow get distracted or can't relax enough.
I'm pregnant now and I need more sleep than ever (night time sleep is just not working properly) and I struggle to nap still! I should be making the most of it while I can!!!
LOL! I can totally relate! Oh my, I often wondered how the heck did my habit of sleeping at 9pm straight gone? I enjoyed staying up late, BUT not waking up early mwahahahah... I'm always sleepy all day anyway :|
i miss nap time too!!!! i was directing a program for kids at church and i recommended nap time coz i really needed to recharge. much to my disappointment, the kids protested at my proposal and off they went to the pool to splash me!!!
here's to getting more zzzz's
Or is it because you've been sick lately? I always feel tired for up to a month after being sick, it's because your body sucks up so much energy trying to get better that you have none left.
There's nothing wrong with a power nap of 15 minutes twice a day. Try that and see how you go.
Apparently we all start to wear out around 3-4 in the afternoon.
naps are fun! :)
i went to bed last night unusually early, and woke up so refreshed today. of course it is hard to be awake and enthusiastic at work (i understand!!) but i felt so much better after a full night's rest.
your blog is so cute - im about to check out your pinterest :)
I've never been a napper, and back in college I barely slept a wink the whole time. But these days- give me a weekend and I'll sleep until noon!
I could always use a nap. I nap on my commute to and from work. I want and try to nap after work but I can't.
Sleep is precious so I never take it for granted. If I can sleep, I will try and get some shut eye even for 20 minutes.

I never have time to nap anymore - though I do sleep late! Napping was such a double edged sword for me in college - I would nap, but then wouldn't be able to get to sleep at night (which was okay when I was going to parties, but not so great when I was student teaching!).
I definitely miss napping - good luck finding something that works for you, my dear! (Multiple Starbucks trips a day help me out tremendously!).
I agree, seriously, I nap more than children. Haha. Thanks for commenting on my blog, your profile make me crack up (with the kiss of death wrestling move, haha)
HAHAHA... well I just woke up from a Sunday nap so I completely agree!!!

Same here!! I use to hate nap time as a kid and now I look forward to taking a nap.
I honestly don't nap that much unless I'm with my boyfriend, but I definitely sleep a lot at night, that's for sure! We're talking 8-10 hours! 10 hours feels so good if I'm really in the need of some good zzzz's. Hope you had sweet dreams!
I just woke up from a nap!!! They are glorious.
haha that is so true! xoxo
haha, ur so right!! naps are the best ;) cool blog!

i still don't nap well, but i'd definitely take the chance right now if i had it.
I am constantly fighting with my kids at naptime and at the very core of my frustration with that is my ridiculous jealousy that they have this huge break in the middle of the day in which to take a long, glorious nap. I would give anything to have a regular nap in my day! (love the photo, by the way!)
Naps? I'm an artist so when I'm inspired I can go 2 days on adrenilin. Once the muse leaves though, maybe once a week a nap is in order . . .

that is so funny. i have been seriously thinking about how easy we had it when we were kids and the things that we completely took for granted, such as naps.

It's so funny how our attitude to sleep changes over time. I think you hit teenagerdom and immediatle it's all you want to do!
oh man you are not alone with yearning for naps! the more brain power i used at school the sleepier (and hungrier) i got.
oh man I love sleep! I've dozed off in class before lol
as a matter of fact, I'm off to take a nap now! great read :)
as i baby/kid i NEVER napped...drove my mom crazy. once i hit college- napped all the time. hahah
I LOVE that picture! Too funny. I miss napping! I took one yesterday afternoon. It was bliss. No one should mess with my sleep. Saying I'm unpleasant without enough sleep would be an understatement!
