Yumminess 101

This weekend was one of my yummiest weekend ever. Now, it's a Monday and I am feeling so guilty for pigging out.Saturday night the fiancé invited my family out for dinner to celebrate our engagement. We have decided on going for a long engagement. We will be tying the knot by August of 2013. It was fun to see my family just as excited for the wedding as we are. His side of the family hasn't met my side of the family yet. Just thinking about this makes me nervous.

They surprised us with a coffee crunch cake. This cake was deeee-licious!

There was an open cooking station which was a lot of fun to see.

We were still having a good Saturday when before we knew it, we were bidding Saturday goodbye.

Sunday was yet another yummy day.This was a very cheesy, beefy chimichangga. yum!
shrimps! I know the picture looks gross, but I swear the shrimps were soooooooooooo good!

6 Years and 9 months Later

Ok guys, to be honest with all of you, I have typed and retyped this post for about an hour or a little more than an hour. I have no idea how to get this post started, so I guess I'm going to have to start with this picture:

My boyfriend of 6 years and 9 months got down on one knee over the weekend and proposed to me. I cannot believe that we have been a couple for this long, it seems like only yesterday when I first met him and we began dating and now we are engaged. Wow. Words cannot begin to express how happy I am to know that I will be marrying the man I love. He is my better half, my best friend, my love. We have grown together not just as a couple, but as individuals. He has helped me to become a better person and he has pushed me to always give it my best even when I doubted myself.

The fiancé and I have agreed to get married in August of 2013. Yes, I know it is a long long time from now, but I think it is perfect. Since I have always been a bit of a perfectionist, I think this will give me more than enough time to plan and prepare for everything. Oh girls, please help me out, any ideas or suggestions for wedding themes and other wedding planning details that I need to keep in mind?

We were so young hair. We were young kids with bad hair. lol.

And now, 6 years and 9 months later and through bad hair days, thick and thin,wacky and sweet moments, here we are as a newly engaged couple. =)

#Awkward! That Moment When...

Ok I'm sure you've all had an awkward moment where you felt like you just wanted to melt or you wanted out of that situation ASAP. Lately I have been feeling like the queen of awkward. Allow me to enumerate just a few instances.

Awkward#1.
That moment where you are in the car with your family and suddenly a song with some sexual content suddenly goes on and no one bothers to change the station. Errrr....arrrrghhhh....
Khia's song, "My Neck, My Back" suddenly came on while I was in the car on a road trip with my cousins and their parents.

If you're not familiar with the song, play this video. Can you say awkward much?! What is a girl to do in such a situation? The song before that had me nodding my head and singing a long then suddenly this song came on. I did the only thing I could think of doing...I put my sunglasses on and pretended to sleep.



Awkward#2.
That moment where you are talking to a friend and he/she suddenly picks his/her nose in front of you. Yes, in front of you. And this person plays with the little treasure and rolls it between their finger forming a ball of booger! Ewwwwrrrrr! To look away or not. Ugh...

Someone please get me out of these awkward situations!
