Beachscapade, My Island Getaway!

There's nothing like the cool beach breeze, walking barefoot on the sand, and listening to the gush of the rushing waves that really soothes my soul. The trip to the beach was not our usual 30 minute drive. This time, we had a long 2 hours drive to the beach. We rode a barge to get to the other side of an island and from there we drove up and around scary cliffs. We finally got to the place we were headed to and I was really amazed by the view. We stayed for a few hours at this one beach house which reminded me so much of the houses in Santorini, Greece. Sadly, I failed to take a picture of the beach house because I was too excited to hit the beach.

That is a picture of me and my cousin Mikey under the sign the says "Ayahay" which means RELAX. The place was most definitely relaxing.

Time to EAT!
Shrimps! My favorite seafood! Yummmo!
Poor piggy. Roast pig. I know it looks yucky, but I swear it was really really good. When it comes to food I'm always willing to give everything a try. =)

We were so excited to go to the beach that we forgot to pack utensils! We had to dine like a cave man and use our hands.

Cupcakes for dessert! Nom Nom Nom

Sitting on these plastic chairs and facing such a pretty view is just pure heaven.

Wondering why there's no one else on this amazing beach? It is a private beach resort which my cousin bought late last year for his wife who's always dreamed of Santorini. What a lovely surprise!

There's this floating raft that was located in the middle of the beach. We wanted to get on that raft but the probably was none of us knew how to swim. hahahaha

The beach was very rocky and I ended up going home with a bloody toe. Before I could get to the water I stepped on rocks and lots of rocks. It wasn't till I was in a bit deep that my toe could finally step on sand. But that's alright, I had a blast and the bloody toe was definitely worth it.
I definitely need to think about getting a pair of aqua shoes next time I come down to this place.

After hours at the beach, it was finally time to go home and call it a day. Mom prepared more yumminess for us.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Good Karma

Ever heard of that famous saying "what comes around goes around?" I have heard that saying and have even said that myself one too many times. I like to believe that people will eventually get what they deserve.

Anyhow, a few weeks ago, I was in the restroom and found a really, really nice cellphone. It was a Samsung touchscreen and it looked pretty expensive. I checked the stalls but there was no one else in the restroom but me. I told my friends about the cellphone I found and some of them told me to be practical and keep it as a spare in case my phone breaks in the near future. I know better...

I went to the information booth and left the cellphone there. I filed a lost and found report and made sure to leave my number in case the owner of the cellphone had gotten it back, I wanted to make sure that someone would let me know.

I felt like this was just not enough. Thank goodness for social media like twitter and facebook. I tweeted about this cellphone in hopes that someone who lost their cellphone at the same place I was in would finally be reunited with their phone. 30 minutes after tweeting about it on twitter and posting it on my facebook wall, someone texted me saying thank you because they had gotten their phone back.

Yesterday, my brother dropped his wallet at some parking lot. He called the nearby police station hoping that someone might have dropped it off there. Just his luck, someone did run across his wallet and left it at the police station. When my brother went to pick it up, not a single cent was missing. I guess my bro got my good karma. Yey!

Anyone else experience any good karma lately? I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Familiar Stranger

Today was not an ordinary day for me. Today was one of those days where I felt my heart shatter to pieces. Someone let me down big time.

I spent all morning staring out the window of my work place, hoping to catch a glimpse of a familiar face among the crowd of strangers that endlessly passed by. Tick, tock, tick, tock, at last the clock hits twelve o'clock. I run out of the office and blend in to the crowd of busy strangers. Hustling and bustling, some foot steps walking fast, some walking by ever so slowly. Strangers talking and laughing sounds like buzzing bees to my ears. I slowly close my eyes and try to listen intently for that warm familiar laugh, for that kind voice to call out my name. Defeated, I return to the office with my favorite happy drink in hand. I put on a fake smile and go back to work. My mind and heart drifts off to a place in time from long ago.

Again, I look out the window and try to spot that familiar face, maybe just maybe I might catch a glimpse of you, even if just for a second..I fear one day when I see you again you will just be another face in the crowd of strangers. I fear that maybe someday you will be nothing more than a familiar face and sadly, that is all you will ever be. I can still recall the past but only with feelings of emptiness.

I am tired of being an option, when in fact I should be this person's priority. I really wish I could share with all of you, who this person is, but I fear someone he knows might come across this post and share this with him. Actually, I'm not even sure if it would make any difference anyway if he finds out.

Send me some love and positive vibes people. Group hug!

Wedding Wednesday

It's been almost a month since I have been engaged. And I have thought a lot about going for a Winter Wedding Theme. I have been missing my life back in the U.S. I miss my weekly trips down to snowy Lake Tahoe and I miss the cool bay area breeze in San Francisco, I miss life back in California. For those of you who are newbies to my blog, I'm currently living in the Philippines. I figured a Winter Wedding theme would be a lot of fun this would be a fun.I wanted a Winter feel for the ballroom but I also wanted the entourage in 1920's inspired outfits.

But then I found this:

I've been in love with the color pink since I was a kid. I've never really grown out of my pink stage.

And just when I thought I had to decide between a winter wonderland wedding or a pink and white or pink and silver wedding, I came across this:

Victorian Wedding theme! There's something about the simplicity of the colors that I really like. It is simple yet so classy. I am soooooooooooo torn.

The wedding is in August of 2013. I know it's ages from now but could you guys please help me choose a theme or maybe you guys have a few suggestions? I will start with the official wedding planning and getting in touch with wedding vendors by January 2013, do you guys think this is too late to plan a wedding? How soon should I start with all this wedding planning anyway?

Oh and I got so excited posting all these pictures that I forgot to post the links. Links to these photos can be found here on my Pinterest account.

This Time Last Year

This time last year I was back in California for my one month vacay. Time flies by way too fast. This was the first vacay I've had since I graduated from college 6 years ago and started working. Oh that one month was just way too short. It was nice to just have some time to myself, explore new places and visit places I used to go to when I was still a kid. It was really nice to get to break free from waking up at 4:30am on work days and finally get to sleep in.

Below are some of the pictures from my one month vacay last year. Wish I could rewind and relive those moments.

Napa Valley Wine Caste (I forgot the name of this wine castle. Has anyone else been here?)
Exploring Sin City Vegas!

San Francisco

San Jose, California: Stanford Univeristy and Winchester Mystery House

Lake Tahoe

What were you guys doing this time last year?

I'm counting down to July of 2012. Guess where I'll be this July? Yup, back in California once again. Any bloggers out there feel like meeting up? =)
