This or That?

Sometimes you've been with something for so long that it is hard to leave it behind. Do you ever get that feeling where you try to convince yourself that maybe tomorrow things will change? It is the classic love-hate relationship. One minute you are happy and loving it, then the next you are angry or pissed with how things have turned out.

For the past year I have been having this kind of relationship. No, no, no, not with my future mister, but with Cameron. Who's Cameron? On good days where everything seems to be going well, I call my love Camy, on other days when things seem like everything is going wrong I call him Cameron. Who is Cameron? Ladies and gents, I'd like to introduce you all to Cameron:

Oh Cameron is my camera! Hehehehe. I bought Cameron last year when I was in the U.S. Cameron and I have been together for a little over a year. We've had a lot of good times together. We traveled together, laughed together, hung out together, ate together.

Absolutely Fashionably Belly-cious!

As I have gotten older, I have really learned to value good food and great company. These days when I am stressed I look to desserts as a cheer me upper. Has anyone ever noticed that stressed spelled backwards actually spell out desserts?!
This weekend was one of the yummiest weekend ever. Just looking back on the weekend, I cannot begin to imagine how in the world I was able to eat so much food. And I know all that food is going straight to my thighs and to my belly. Behold my super belly-cious weekend:
 Chocolate turtle castle cake
open wide! burger with bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese! nom nom nom

                                       cheese sticks!

 Apple flavored beer.

I also went to a local gown exhibit where the designers featured their creations of the traditional gowns.

This am in love with the lower part of this gown. The red portion of the gown looked like soft rose petals.

I hope you all had a great weekend and may you all have an amazing week!

Words

Growing up, I've always believed that if you don't have anything nice to say, you really shouldn't say anything. Sometimes words really do hurt more than sticks and stones.

I had a get together with a friend of mine the other day. Just as we were laughing and catching up, a familiar face came to say hi to us. It was a guy that we used to go to school with. After saying hi, he looked at my friend and commented how she looks like she's really gained a few pounds since the last time he ran in to her. Oh boys, they are just so insensitive! My friend smiled, but deep down I know she felt bad. She just shrugged it off, but later she was asking me if she really did look like she gained weight. She was also telling me how hard she has been working out at the gym and that she's even skipping meals. Poor thing.

Lesson of the story. Be careful of what you say to others, it might not mean anything to you but it could mean the world to someone else. As much as possible, I like to build people up, there's too much negativity in this world and sometimes an encouraging word or a show of appreciation really does go a long way.

Life's A Beach!

This weekend I kicked off my heels, painted my nails watermelon pink, grabbed a pair of sandals and sunnies and head off to a beach party! This party was not like any of the beach parties that I have ever been to. This event was packed with a lot of activities. There was body painting, drum beaters, fire dancers, fashion show, drinks, fireworks, and beach side back massage. Hello SUMMER!
 off to join the party
 with the gang

With my fashion designer/ fashion directory friend, Ronan. I want his scarf!

 The party ended with fireworks.

I hope you all had a fun weekend and a great week up ahead.

XoXo

All But A Dream

The cool spring breeze brushed through my hair carrying the scent of freshly blooming flowers. The sun beamed like a proud god and it's golden rays kissed my cheeks. It was the perfect day. The perfect day for a walk around the neighborhood. Surprisingly, the streets were not busy at all. What time is it? It is already 9am. Where's the traffic? Where's the pollution? Why are birds singing instead of cars honking? Unusual is not the word I would use to describe such a scene. This kind of quietness, calmness I would say is probably extinct, gone, wiped out from the face of mankind. What is going on?

Everyone seems to be in such good spirits. Teenagers weren't rowdy, in fact they were very polite. One teenager even went out of his way just to help an old lady push her grocery cart and load her groceries into her car. I rub my eyes in disbelief.

When I got home I had gotten a letter from an old friend. I haven't received a letter in ages. Sure, there's email and facebook messages but it's been ages since I had actually gotten a real letter in the mail. It was such an exciting feeling to open the envelope and read the handwritten letter from my friend. Inside there were a few stickers, just perfect to add to my sticker collection. Wait, where is my sticker collection anyway? There was also a bookmark and a handmade friendship bracelet.

All of sudden my hand started to hurt really bad. And then in the blink of an eye I was staring at my bedroom ceiling. Oh it was all but a dream.

All day long I couldn't help but think, what would it be like if I lived in the past, maybe 1920's? That would be great. Who knows? Anything is possible, maybe not right now but maybe in a few years from now. Back then computers didn't exist and people had to actually be in the same place and same time to actually see each other, unlike now with the help of modern technology friends and family are but a computer away.

Sure modern technology is awesome and I am so dependent on my computer and cellphone, but I think life might actually be sweeter if things were simple. Life is sweeter with actual human touch, you know, taking the time to make handwritten letters, when dinner time actually meant sitting together with your family and eating together and talking with each other for an hour and not just your quick fast food meals.

My grammy. I would love to have lived during her time. I love how make up wasn't so complicated. I loved how makeup consisted of red lipstick, blush and eyelash curler.

How exciting to receive snail mail. I was looking through old journals and realized just how my handwriting has changed over the years. Oh and I also noticed how just by glancing at my handwriting I could tell what emotional state I was in when writing certain journal entries. You could tell if I was sad, mad or happy.

When it was okay to ride a bike without coming home coughing from all the pollution you inhaled.

Can someone please make me a time machine? Hehehehe
