Me Time

Me, myself, a coffee, no make that two coffees and a book. This is pretty much how I spent my quiet day. I visited the bookstore and got myself a copy of this book called "The Magic".

and while I was at it, I went ahead and ordered myself a slice of this yumminess:

It has been so long since I have actually read a book. Oh books. I have certainly missed you. As much as I enjoy reading ebooks, nothing replaces the feeling of running my fingers through the pages of the books, scribbling notes on the side of every page and using cute bookmarks. There were a lot of best sellers at the bookstore, but I was drawn to this particular book, "The Magic".

No, it's not a book filled with magic tricks that you could show off to your friends. It is the real kind of magic. It is the Magic of Gratitude. This book is just so inspirational, so magical. You're supposed to read this book daily, each day there is an exercise which you are to do. I'm only on the second day and I am feeling super blessed and I do feel a bit of magic in my life. I won't go into much detail, but you guys might want to try reading reviews about this book. This book is definitely worth buying.

How do you guys spend your "me time"?

Spoiled Brat

Sometimes it is okay to splurge. But why do I feel guilty when I go on a shopping spree? Honestly, it has been ages since I have gone shopping. Window shopping, I do on a weekly basis. But to actually shell out some cash and buy stuff nah. During my teen years I pretty much didn't really know the value of hard earned money, would buy anything that caught my eye without hesitation. Now a days, I've buried myself with work and bills to pay that I am pretty content just looking at the pretty displays on the racks.

The past week, mommy dragged me to go shopping. She insisted that sometimes it isn't about paying bills, sometimes we need to treat ourselves for all our hard work. So without further adieu here's some of the stuff I splurged on.

Bringing out the animal in me. Maxi skirt is definitely a summer must have.

Cute bracelets from Accessorize.

To thank my mom for pushing me to splurge I decided to whip something up for her. I woke up extra early to make her some Spicy, Cheesy, Beef Enchiladas.
nom, nom, nom. Anyone have any good enchilada recipes out there? I got my recipe from here. This recipe has been a hit, guaranteed no leftovers. =)

New Look

Hey guys. For those of you who have been following my blog for sometime now, you might have noticed a change in my layout and design. You likeee? I hope so. My brother's future wifey created the header. She drew this on Photoshop. How awesome is that? She also drew this little cutie:

My bro's future wifey is so artistic, so creative. She recently applied for an online job where she gets to draw for children's books. I hope she gets the job. She was telling me about how if she gets this job, then it actually wouldn't be a job because she would be doing something she really loves.

I'm no good at all with blog layouts, but I just felt the need for something new. I still feel like this blog is missing something, but I'm just not sure what it is. Also, I'm really sorry for neglecting this blog. A year or so ago, I used to blog on an almost day to day basis, lately I've been doing weekly posts instead. Life just gets so busy sometimes. But hopefully, with this new look comes new commitment to blog more often.

Also, for those of you who are not too happy about the new blogger interface like me, here's something that might help:

Have a happy day everyone!
